 Images stripped from sources such as the internet, magazines, and movies are transformed by the hands of painter into eccentric icons.

Ohnuma indiscriminately quotes subjects for his paintings from various media.

 Many of his motifs are widely recognized in art history, such as portrait, still life, and landscape, but he sometimes draws inspiration from worn-out wall stains or whale cries to create new images.

In the process of creation, he removes any elements that the model originally possessed - traits, qualities, nationality, gender.

 His paintings are structurally very unstable and are in danger of collapsing at the slightest deviation.

Ohnuma is trying to expose the fragility and vulnerability that art inherently contains.

Yusuke Onuma Painter. Born in 1983, based in Tokyo. Started painting in earnest after the age of 25.  From the latter half of the 2000s, he began creating using a unique technique that integrates outlines and shadows to transform into pure colors and shapes.
